The Opportunity

At Vaimo, we are seeking an exceptional Head of Design to lead our design practice into its next chapter of growth and impact. What You’ll Do

• Define and own the design standard for Vaimo’s Design team, establishing best practices, design systems, and a cohesive direction aligned with our brand and client needs.

• Hands-on design work on projects, reviewing team outputs, and contributing to client deliverables to maintain a strong connection to the craft.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, translating their needs into actionable design strategies.

• Champion design excellence and innovation, setting the benchmark for what “good looks like” across all design outputs.

• Mentor, hire, and nurture design talent, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.

• Encourage cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing to maximize team performance and creative output.

• Manage projects, allocate resources effectively, and ensure the team delivers work that meets both creative and business goals.

• Monitor and adapt design maturity models to guide the team’s evolution and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

What You Bring

• Proven Design Experience: Minimum of 7 years of design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating full lifecycle design thinking within the e-commerce domain.

• Experience working in a consultancy or agency environment.

• Client-Facing Skills: Ability to articulate design decisions, negotiate, and build trust with clients and internal stakeholders.

• Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of designers, including mentoring and implementing processes that improve efficiency and creativity.

• Strategic Mindset: Experience translating business goals into design strategies and measuring design impact on user and business outcomes.

• Collaboration and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to influence across disciplines, tailor messaging for diverse audiences, and foster open communication.

• Technical Proficiency: Mastery of design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, prototyping tools
